I have 17 years experience of working with children and families with an extensive range of difficulties within the voluntary and social care arena. I completed 6 months of training around systemic therapy early in my working life and felt this experience pushed me to take the therapeutic path further and so in 2005 began my degree in Integrative Therapy. This provided me with the skills to continue working in a therapeutic way with children and families with disabilities and complex emotional and behavioural difficulties. I have worked for the last 4 years with individuals and families using Integrative and Solution Focused approaches in supporting families and making changes for their future.
I am excited to develop services and support for children with disabilities/ complex needs. This is my passion. I am very interested in family relationships and behaviours and have specialised in this area in recent years.
Outside of my working life I am a mum to my 9 year daughter and caretaker to our array of animals; pigs, chickens, dog, cat, lizards, canary and fish! I am about to embark on a new journey in my life - fostering children with complex needs and couldn't be more excited! I also enjoy lots of outdoor activities with my family or curling up with a good book to relax!
