Experience

Clinical
Whilst working with Family Action I assessed, coordinated and provided support to children and families who were experiencing a diverse range of problems. These included behavioural difficulties, bereavement, domestic violence, school refusal, anxiety and depression, child protection,  and family/relationship problems. I helped develop and run groups and provided  counselling to children and parents.

My work for the NHS has been mainly focused on assessing and treating patients using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy as part of the IAPT program. Such disorders include social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder and depression.

Supervision/Consultation
I have extensive experience of providing consultation to professionals working with children and families, including General Practitioners, teachers, support staff, social workers and youth workers.

Within my current role I supervise staff who provide guided self-help CBT to patients.

Management
Whilst working with Family Action I managed the Wellbeing service within Waveney. This was a therapeutic support service to children and families experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Continuing Professional Development/Training
CBT is evidence based as an effective treatment of many mental health problems. I am committed to keeping up to date with new developments in the field. I adhere to the codes of conduct of the BABCP of which I am a member and regularly attend CPD training to maintain and enhance my knowledge and skills.
