I have wide-ranging clinical experience in a variety of settings including:

NHS - (Child and Adolescent and Adult Mental Health Services);

Education (Mainstream, Therapeutic, Special Educational Needs and Independent Sector schools);

Private Practice (Private Clinic, CIC and Associate Group of Mental Health Professionals).

The children and young people I work with come with a variety of presentations and diagnoses including mood, attachment and eating disorders; PTSD; phobias and behavioural issues. These young people have often experienced developmental trauma in different forms – abuse, neglect, family breakdown or other loss/bereavement. I work closely with parents/carers, schools, social workers and other agencies involved with the young person.

My trauma work with adults includes using EMDR for PTSD stemming from single incidents, to working with negative belief systems and behaviours rooted in complex childhood trauma. These can include addictions, relationship issues, phobias, mood disorders and low self esteem.

I have also run various therapeutic groups for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, Looked After and Accommodated Children (LAAC), sibling groups, and Adult acute inpatient and extended day care groups, and done therapeutic life story work with fostered and adopted children.

As well as undertaking regular individual supervision in Art Psychotherapy and EMDR I am experienced in supervising colleagues and facilitating group supervision. I provide consultation services to professionals involved in the care of young people such as social workers, foster carers and education staff.

Teaching / Training
I deliver training workshops to promote better understanding of mental health issues and therapeutic approaches, and creativity/mindfulness based workshops for staff wellbeing.

Continuing Professional Development
I am committed to fulfilling the CPD requirements as set out by my regulating body, the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).  As well as keeping up to date with relevant literature, this involves regular participation in conferences, seminars and training workshops.  I am a member of various special interest groups within my professional bodies, and am on the EMDR Association East Anglia Steering Group, organising regular regional CPD events.
