Experience

Clinical
I have a wide range of experience in mental health, having worked with clients across the age range,  children and adolescents, adults and older persons.  I specialise in the treatment of children and young people and have a particular interest in depression, anxiety disorders and eating disorders. I offer online CBT via a secure chatroom facility.

Management / Strategic Development
The management experience gained during the earlier stages of my career has proved very valuable in the development of new services for clients within my clinical practice.

Supervision / Consultation
I regularly provide supervision to students, trainees and fellow professionals.

Teaching / Training
Throughout my career I have been involved in training within the various multi-disciplinary teams in which I have worked. I provide training sessions on various aspects of CBT in practice. I  am an assessor for the Children and Young Persons’ IAPT service training programme at the University of Reading. As an Occupational Therapist I have contributed to the taught courses at the University of East Anglia.

Research
My current interests relate to the delivery of psychological support to young people within settings other than the mental health care system – for example, those with acute medical needs, or those needing additional support within the education system.  I have contributed to Nick Wrycraft’s Mental Health Nursing Case Book (2012) and am working with Nick Wrycraft on a proposal for a second book.

Continuing Professional Development / Training
I update my skills on a regular basis by attending training events locally and nationally. My most recent training has included CBT for clinical perfectionism, Introduction to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness and Case Formulation in CBT.
